Alienated Identification

Artist Book

The book emphasizes the struggles of German immigrants who came to Israel in the 19th century and had to adapt their lifestyles from a cultural zenith to a malarial wasteland.

I created a sharp visual transition between the beginning of the book, composed of full bleed, impressive images representing the abundance in Germany and the newspaper pages with blank spots for the missing images emphasizing the emotional vacuum the immigrants, and Liselotte, felt in the new country.
